Linocut Print Card Sets

Here are a few designs I carved yesterday. If you see anything you like you can find them in my etsy shop.

Linocut Print

I decided to graduate from speedy carve to linoleum for printmaking options. I have to say linoleum is much harder to carve but produces a really nice print.

Printmaking

I want to learn how to make my own prints and decided to start small. So I'm experimenting with stamp making first.  I purchased a rubber block called speedy carve and a lino cutting tool set and started carving...it's addictive!

my paper obsession

I just received this beautiful Italian hot press paper and I love how the watercolor stains the paper leaving behind this delicate image. It's as if the image is soaking into the paper and slowly disappearing.

Trying a different technique

I wanted to try something less controlled and made some quick little paintings.

Concept sketches

I like to sketch out my ideas for my porcelain projects. I was trying to decide between the nude version or the bather and in the end I went with both.

lines and prints

I admire the deceptively simple lines of the Japanese woodblock prints. As I work I try to strip away the extra lines to keep the form as clean and uncomplicated as the woodblock print. Not as easy as it sounds.

Inspired by vintage travel posters.

more face

Freehand sketching with pencil. Adding the hair detail is addictive. I'm trying to keep the lines to a minimum but the hair needs more.
